Franciacorta and Brescia offer hospitality to the 2011 edition of the EUROPEAN WINE BLOGGERS’ CONFERENCE

Erbusco, 5th October 2011 - La European Wine Bloggers' Conference (EWBC) 2011 will take place for the first time in Italy: Franciacorta has been selected by the organizers from the many offers of hospitality and will be host to the conference from the 14^th to the 16^th this month of October. Over 200 bloggers will meet to discuss the relationship between wine enthusiasts and the Internet also looking to opportunities in the future. The meeting will take place against the historical background of the Santa Giulia Monastery Museum which has been kindly offered for this purpose by the Brescia City Authorities. The Franciacorta Consortium will be partner in the enterprise with a programme of wine-tasting, visits and study sessions offered to the conference participants, wine experts from all over Europe and the USA.

Friday 14^th and Sunday 16^th will be the days dedicated to Franciacorta wines. Producers and enologists from the various wine-cellars will illustrate aspects of local wine production and will take part in the afternoon workshops. At the end of the day there will be a wine-tasting of millesimati Satèn and Brut from 37 cellars. Each day, at the end of the conference, the Consortium will also be offering tastings of the various types of ‘Franciacorta’. On Sunday bloggers will have the opportunity to visit the vineyards and to participate in events specially prepared for the occasion in selected wine-cellars, thus helping them to discover the rich enological patrimony of this famous region of Lombardy.
