Established in 1996 in the heart of Franciacorta, Ronco Calino is the realisation of the lifelong passion of owner Pablo Radici, a Bergamo entrepreneur with a background in the chemical industry.
This unique Cru comprises 10 hectares set in an extraordinary North - to - West facing ampitheatre of trademark local morenic soil. It is overlooked by the large house where ABM, one of Italy's most celebrated pianists of the 20th century, found his inspiration.
The cellar is a new building blending seamlessly into the surroundings and it lies at the heart of everything we do. Its expansive halls are expertly designed to provide just the right environment, allowing the absolute optimum combination of mother nature's hand and our own personal touch.
Our philosophy is driven by the pursuit of excellence. The fruit of each vine is processed separately and the technology serves only to ensure the gentlest handling of purely natural ingredients.
Ronco Calino offers a first class selection, ranging from classic Fraciacortas (Brut, Satèn and Vintage) to a Rosé (Radijani), a Sun - Dried variety, and of course our Still wines.
Franciacortas are renowned for their aromatic complexity gained through extended yeast contact, most notably the Brut, which is an elegant cuvée of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes, characterised by it's multi - faceted nose and a satisfyingly persistent aftertaste.
From the still wine range a special mention goes to our multi - award winning L'Arturo. This pinot noir dedicated to ABM is a little masterpiece. A bouquet of small red fruits is obtained by its being fermented in stainless steel tanks before maturing for at least 18 months in small French oak barrels.
