Cà del Vént is a small, independent, artisanal, family-owned, boutique winery set on the eastern-border of the Franciacorta region.
The estate covers only 6 hectares and the vineyards enjoy a west-facing position on top of the Campiani hills ( 350/400 m. a.s.l.) with quite steep slopes, a unique windy and dry microclimate ( the name Cà del Vént means the " house of wind") and an extraordinary but uncommon clayey & limestone-rich soil ( which gives mineral complexity and body to our wines).
We put great emphasis into making high quality no-compromise wines following a completely natural methods and site-specific approach ( every vine is cared only manually - no machines are allowed in the vineyards- and treatments are made only if necessary onto the specific vine and not scheduled), harvesting the half of what we are entitled by local disciplines (we set a limited number of buds on each plant then make a green harvest in order to pick actually 1kg/grapes per vine - 1 bottle of wine/vine on 6 hectares high-densely planted with 7000 stocks each) preserving and maintaining our traditional authentic varieties ( the red Cellatica Doc discipline blends Barbera, Marzemino, Schiava Gentile and Incrocio Terzi n.1 that we harvest, vinify separately and not filter in order to keep their original aroma, flavour and character ), protecting and cultivating our 40 year-old vines that came with the estate and following a very exclusive production in minuscule quantities only in the best vintages.
Our way to Franciacorta wines is to make whole fermentation in wood that gives a rich, light toasty flavour and elegance. We use to age a lot wines in the bottle (from 22 months to even 72 months, then other six months in the bottle after degorgement to balance). As a result our sparkling wines have persistence and character, are concentrated, and keep on changing in the glass time after time : moreover we do not add sugar and liqueur at the degorgement ( this is the Franciacorta Pas Operé ) in order to have a pure wine coming solely from the grapes.
Our range goes from red Cellatica Doc ( the top vintage CLAVIS refines in bottle at least 8 years before hitting the shelves ) to white still Curtefranca, to sparkling Franciacorta.
